He said that since Wednesday night, the total death toll had reached 30 people. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they targeted Hamas terrorist cells operating in close proximity to IDF forces and threatening them directly.
However, the IDF’s statement cannot be independently verified.
Footage from the civil defense showed rescue teams ducking through the rubble, trying to rescue buried men, women and children. One clip shows officers lifting a child from the rubble;the child’s body was covered in dust and wounds, and he could be heard crying.
Meanwhile, the newly announced ceasefire is in the spotlight because this attack is considered to violate the agreement.Gaza residents had hoped that there would be a period of calm after the ceasefire, but the reality on the ground was different.
Previously, Israel and Hamas agreed on the first phase of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday (8/10).The deal includes the release of all hostages from Gaza and the withdrawal of Israeli troops.
In addition to the prisoner exchange, at least 400 trucks carrying humanitarian aid will also enter the Gaza Strip every day, during the first five days of the ceasefire. The distribution of aid will be increased in the following days.
Since the aggression began on October 7 2023, more than 67 thousand Palestinian civilians have been killed and acute famine has worsened in the enclave.
