accusing Moscow to avoid a meeting with the President of Russia

In the midst of peaceful negotiations.
United States President Donald Trump is said to be trying to end the Russian invasion which has lasted three and a half years by bringing together Zelensky and Putin at the negotiating table.
Trump met Putin at a meeting in Alaska last week, and held a separate talks with Zelensky and a number of European leaders in Washington on Monday (18/8).Until now there has been no significant progress towards a peace agreement.
“Honestly, the signal that came from Russia was really outrageous … they didn’t want to end this war,” Zelensky said in his night speech.
Zelensky stressed that he was willing to meet Putin, with the condition that his allies agreed to provide security guarantees for Ukraine to prevent Russian attacks in the future.
He also rejected the idea of the meeting to be held in Moscow and stated that the meeting should be held in a neutral European country.In addition he rejected the role of China as Ukraine security guarantor.
While Russia accused Ukraine of not seriously wanted long -term peace on the grounds that Kyiv’s security demands were considered not in line with Moscow’s interests.
Trump gave a two -week deadline to assess the opportunity to achieve a peaceful agreement.He asserted Washington “may have to take a different approach” if the negotiations fail.
New Russian attack
In the midst of negotiating discourse, Zelensky warned the two parties were preparing to face further battles.
He said Russia strengthened the troops on the southern front line, while Ukraine conducted a new long -distance cruising missile trial.
This warning emerged after Russia launched hundreds of drones and missiles to the Ukraine region last night, the biggest attack since mid -July and killed one person in the city of Lviv and injured many others.
Russian missiles also hit the factory complex owned by American companies in the city of Mukachevo, West Ukraine, which injured 23 people.
The President of the American trade in Ukraine, Andy Hunder, assessed that the attack was Moscow’s effort to destroy and embarrass the US business in the country.
“This is a deliberate attack on American property,” said Zelensky.
Russian artillery attacks in Kherson also killed one person and injured more than dozens of residents.
Meanwhile, Pro-Russian officials in Donetsk, Denis Pushilin, claimed Ukraine counterattack killed two people and injured 21 others in the occupied area.
Russian success claim
At the forefront, Russia claims to have seized the village of Oleksandro-Shultyne in the Donetsk region.
This village is located less than eight kilometers from the city of Kostiantynivka, one of the Ukraine defense fortresses in the region.
France condemned Russia’s massive air strikes, calling it evidence of ‘Moscow’s seriousness in involving peaceful negotiations’.
A number of allied countries led by Britain and France are currently compiling a military coalition to support security guarantees for Ukraine.
Zelensky said Kyiv hoped to get clarity about security guarantees in the next seven to ten days.
However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Ukraine of proposing unrealistic security demands.He emphasized that the deployment of European troops to Ukraine was completely unacceptable.
On the other hand, Zelensky announced Ukraine succeeded in testing the new long -distance cruising missile named Flamingo with a range of up to 3,000 kilometers.The missile is targeted to be mass produced in February.
Russia is said to continue to strengthen its military position in the Zaporizhzhia region, one of the five Ukraine regions claimed to be part of Russian territory.
