The story was viral on social media after he shared a bitter experience that began four years ago.At that time, Anggi routinely used a cotton bud to clean the ears.However, one day, he felt severe pain in the ear that lasts for weeks.

Anggi finally decided to see a doctor.The examination results showed that there was swelling in his ear.He was given pain relievers and allowed to go home.Although the pain had subsided, the complaint re -appeared as soon as the medicine was used up.
For two to three months, Anggi continued to buy the same medicine to relieve pain.In fact, he had consulted with a friend who is also a doctor and got a prescription for ear drops.
“After wearing drops, aching completely disappears. Then white fluid comes out of the ear, the end of the fingers, which I don’t know what it is,” he said.
The problem does not stop there.Although the pain disappeared, Anggi’s hearing in the right ear began to decline.In mid 2024, he ventured to go to the ENT specialist doctor.The initial examination revealed the alleged serious problems, so he was referred to another hospital.
There, the doctor found a fungal infection.The reason, the ears are too clean due to the use of cotton buds that are too often.”After the past I thought was recovered, it turned out to be overgrown with mushrooms. I was so long to harden,” Anggi said.
After undergoing intensive treatment for weeks, the fungus in Anggi’s ears was finally successfully lifted.However, further examination actually finds new problems that are more alarming.
Diagnosis of Cholesteatoma
The doctor found Anggi experiencing cholesteatoma, namely the abnormal growth of skin tissue in the middle ear.This condition can damage the ear bones and trigger hearing loss.
“The CT scan results show that there is a buildup of fluids in the middle ear. The doctor said it must be taken because if it spreads can be hit by the brain or meningitis, it can even make the face tilted,” he said.
