The four athletes are Evgenii Nurislamov, Artem Bezrukov, Savelii Molchanov, and Adel Khabibullin.They just completed the approval process for Indonesian citizens in the DPR-RI on Tuesday (8/26).
The Chairman of FHEI, Ronald Situmeang revealed the reasons for naturalizing Evgenii Nurislamov and Artem Bezrukov who were both 43 years old.According to him, in the fourth -headed athlete’s hockey branch included in productive age.
“This is one of the characteristics of ice hockey sports. So indeed [age] prime from the player’s performance is slightly different from other sports. If this ice hockey sport is at the age of 40 to 45 years, for example in NHL [Hockey League in the United States and Canada] there are 40 years or even 50 years of age 50 years of defending the club and it is still in their best performance,” said Ronald at the Indonesian Parliament Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/26).
Evgenii Nurislamov was an athlete born in UFA, Russia, on August 11, 1982. He had a professional career experience of more than 20 years and had defended Hockey clubs in Russia and the United States, and now Indonesia.
While Artem Bezrukov also came from Russia who was born on August 1, 1982. He now defends the Indonesian club, Badax.
In addition to naturalizing athletes over 40 years, Fhei also took care of the process of Indonesian citizens of two young athletes namely Svelii Molchanov (19 years) and Adel Khabibullin (21 years).
According to Ronald, the presence of four naturalized athletes will improve the quality of the Indonesian hockey national team.The closest event that is being prepared is the SEA Games 2025 Thailand.
“This naturalized program is of course to strengthen the national team in the international event. The closest is the SEA Games,” Ronald said.
“The target is in the three SEA Games in the future, of course we want to win the gold medal,” he added.
