Tens of thousands of people held a demonstration in Italy as a form of solidarity with the Palestinian people and the humanitarian crisis which was getting worse in the Gaza Strip.
The grassroots union from all of Italy took to the streets in at least 25 cities.
They voiced a number of demands, including criticism of the slow response of the Italian government and the European Union in handling the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
This action took place in conjunction with the decisions of France, Britain, Australia, Portugal, and Canada which compactly recognized the Palestinian state.
However, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni actually took a distance from that step and stated that recognizing Palestine before the country really was established would become counterproductive.
