The battery -powered electric train in the UK records a new world record by traveling a distance of about 322 kilometers in one charging, crossing the Reading route, London, Oxford.
Great Western Railway (GWR) mentions this achievement as proof that the battery train can be a feasible and cost -effective alternative compared to future diesel trains.
The trial was carried out in “supermode” mode with a speed of 30-40 mph.
If operating at a full speed of 60 mph, the mileage is estimated to reach 120 miles.
This train uses six batteries with hybrid technology and is equipped with an innovative fast charging system, which is able to charge in just three minutes to continue the journey to the next destination.
This battery train also produces 80 percent lower carbon emissions than the diesel version.
