The Nobel peace prize ultimately went to Maria Corina Machado.Coincidentally, this Venezuelan opposition politician is an ally of Trump and a mutual enemy of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
In an official statement, Trump said he had spoken with 2024 Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado on Friday (10/10).He called the activist from Venezuela very good.

“The person who actually received the Nobel Prize called today, called me and said, ‘I received this to honor you, because you really deserve it,'” Trump said, recalling the conversation with Machado, quoted
cartitleloans.
He then praised Machado’s actions and made a joke.
“It’s a very good thing he did. I didn’t, I didn’t say, ‘then give it there’ even though I thought he would do it. He was very good,” Trump said.
Trump admitted that he had helped Machado so far, especially in 2024. According to him, Venezuelans really need a lot of help.
“They really need help in Venezuela, it’s a fundamental disaster. So, you could say the aid is for 2024 and I’m running for office in 2024,” he said.
Trump did not specify which incident or event he was referring to.However, in 2024 Venezuela will hold general elections.Machado almost ran for president, but his move was blocked by Nicolas Maduro’s regime.
The woman was banned from holding public office and ended up supporting an alternative candidate from the opposition, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia.
Machado is also considered successful in uniting the opposition in Venezuela and keeping the fire of democracy burning.
Separately, Machado also said he had spoken with Trump via telephone when interviewed by Spanish media.However, he did not reveal in more detail what they discussed.
The Nobel Committee awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize to Machado on Friday (10/10) because of his hard work fighting for democracy in Venezuela.
“He received the Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless work in fighting for democratic rights for the Venezuelan people and for his struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy,” said Nobel Committee Chairman Jorgen Watne Frydnes.
After winning the award, Machado expressed his thanks to the Venezuelan people and said that the Nobel Prize was dedicated to Trump, who has supported his cause.
Officials in the Trump administration have widely praised Machado.The US has also repeatedly criticized Nicolas Maduro’s government and deployed massive military forces to the region.
Recently, US troops also shot at a ship off the coast of Venezuela which was suspected of carrying drugs.One of the ships belonged to Colombia and was carrying civilians.
Criticism of the Nobel Prize for Mary
The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Mary was not without criticism.
Maria is considered to support Israel’s right-wing party, Likud, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Islamic community organization in the United States, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), strongly criticized the award of the Nobel Peace Prize.
In an official statement on Friday (10/10), CAIR said Machado was a loyal supporter of Likud, the radical Zionist party in Israel.
“We strongly disagree with the Nobel Prize committee’s decision to award this year’s peace prize to Maria Corina Machado, a staunch supporter of Israel’s racist Likud Party,” according to CAIR.
CAIR also said that the Likud Party had delivered a speech calling for a new Reconquista (conquest) at the European conference earlier this year.Reconquista refers to the conquest and ethnic cleansing of Spanish Muslims and Jews in the 1500s.
Maria Machado is also said to be part of a Latin American right-wing group that is subordinate to the United States and has a lot of sympathy for President Donald Trump, as quoted

According to CAIR, Maria Machado, who is an anti-Muslim fanatic and supporter of European fascism, does not deserve to be side by side with people like Martin Luther King Jr. and other Nobel Peace Prize winners.
