Above the facade, six pillars rise high, symbolizing the leadership of the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
This is the SBY Ani Museum & Gallery, a symbol of respect for the life journey, devotion and love story of two figures who are so closely attached to the Indonesian public’s memory, SBY and Ani Yudhoyono.

This museum was inaugurated on August 17 2023. This three-story, 0.75 hectare museum has become a new magnet in the City of 1001 Goa, Pacitan.
As soon as you step into the main area, an atmosphere of silence immediately descends.A large mural welcomes visitors, showing pieces of SBY’s journey, from a Pacitan boy to sitting on the RI-1 chair.
In every corner of the room, his life story is clearly depicted, not only through exhibition objects, but also through narratives that touch the emotional side.
From Tidar Valley to the State Palace
The first floor of this museum is filled with thematic rooms that take visitors through SBY’s long footsteps.Mulai dari masa menempuh pendidikan di Lembah Tidar, menjalani pelatihan Ranger, Airborne & Jungle Warfare School, hingga misi perdamaian di Bosnia dan masa-masa krusial ketika memimpin Indonesia di era reformasi.
Each room is like a chapter in a living biography.In the room entitled The New President, People’s Choice, there are portraits and video footage marking SBY’s victory in the 2004 elections.
At the end of the first floor journey, visitors are invited to watch a 3D show about the Aceh tsunami tragedy.The visual shock and sound of the waves roaring felt so real, as if taking us back to a time full of sorrow which was also a big test at the beginning of SBY’s leadership.
The stairs to the second floor are like opening a more personal page.Here, the atmosphere turns soft, romantic and emotional.This floor is the place for Ani Yudhoyono’s story of love and dedication.
Entitled the Ani Yudhoyono Art Gallery, this place displays the hand-takes of Ani, who is known to like capturing the beauty of nature and family moments.Each photo displayed is not just documentation, but an expression of the love and sincerity of a wife who always supports her husband’s struggle.
Not far from there, there is a room dedicated to remembering Ani’s last days.On the walls are written poems by SBY, full of longing and eternal love.
This moment was the most touching point throughout the visit, reminding visitors that behind the figure of a great leader, there is love that never dies.
Love streaks in paintings
On the other side of the second floor, various paintings created by SBY’s hand are displayed.From natural landscapes to portraits of family memories, each painting exudes serenity and reflection.
One of the works that stole attention was Senja Indah di Bandung City, a painting inspired by the evening sky in the city where the Yudhoyono family once lived.
This work of art combines with a collection of various Indonesian batiks, jewelry from local craftsmen, and products created by Mutumanikam Nusantara Indonesia (MMNI), an organization initiated by Ani Yudhoyono to raise the potential of Indonesian craftsmen.
