Chinese company, Kaiwa Technology, is developing
robot
with
artificial uterus
.This robot gets nutrition through a tube in his ‘stomach’ and contains a fetus for about 10 months before giving birth.
This robot was designed by Dr.Zhang Qifeng, founder of Kaiwa Technology in Guangzhou, China. If everything goes according to plan, the prototype will be launched starting next year.
This robot was developed to help couples who were infertile and difficult to get pregnant. With this robot, they can rent a humanoid robot at a cost of around 100 thousand yuan or around Rp226 million (assuming Rp2,265 per 1 yuan).
“Artificial uterine technology is already in an adequate stage, and now it needs to be installed in the abdomen of robots so that humans and robots can interact to reach pregnancy, allowing the fetus to grow in it,” Qifeng told Chosun Biz, launching
The New York Post
, Friday (8/17).
However, there are still many questions that have not been answered about this technology, including the way the egg and sperm will be fertilized and put into the grace, and how the robot gives birth.
Not only that, this kind of technology will also bring up many questions and concerns related to ethical issues and applicable rules.
“We have held a discussion forum with the authorities in Guangdong Province and submitted a related proposal while discussing policies and regulations,” he said.
In recent times, China has continued to try to encourage their robotic industry. This effort occurs amid the challenges of aging populations and slowing economic growth.
Launch Reuters, this sector has received government subsidies of more than US $ 20 billion in the past year, while Beijing plans to establish funds of US $ 137 billion to support startups in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics.
Morgan Stanley’s analysis in a report recorded a surge in public presence at the latest robot conference compared to previous years.According to them this shows how China, not only high -level government officials, has adopted the concept of artificial intelligence.
“We believe this broad interest can be an important factor for Chinese leadership in the development of humanoid robots, by providing talents, resources, and customers needed to encourage the development of industry and long -term adoption,” they said.
