Illegal oil wells in Blora Regency, Central Java increased to four people.The latest victim died after having received intensive care in the last few days.
The Blora Agung Triyono BPBD Rapid Reaction Team (TRC) confirmed the sad news.He explained that one of the burns named Yeti (30) who had previously undergone intensive treatment at Dr.Sardjito Yogyakarta, finally died.
“Last night I got word that the victim was injured on behalf of Yeti.
With the death of Yeti, the number of fatalities in this tragedy increased to four people.The list of victims died namely: Tanek (60), Sureni (52), Wasini (50) and Yeti (30).
Meanwhile, a two -year -old toddler with the initials AD, who is the son of the late Yeti, is still undergoing intensive treatment at Dr.Sardjito Yogyakarta.His condition has continued to be monitored by the medical team.
“The ad is still in intensive care, hopefully there will be good developments soon,” Agung said.
While until the seventh day after the fire, the flames of the illegal oil well had not been extinguished.A joint team consisting of BPBD, firefighters, Pertamina, and various volunteers is still trying hard to extinguish with various methods.
The impact of this fire is increasingly widespread on local residents.At least 300 family heads or around 750 people must leave their homes.
The refugees are now accommodated in a number of emergency posts established by the government along with volunteers in a safer location.
“We continue to coordinate with various parties, both for fire handling and the needs of refugees. Logistics assistance, public kitchens, to emergency health services have been prepared,” explained Agung.
This illegal oil well fire in Blora has become one of the worst tragedies in recent years.
In addition to claiming fatalities, the incident also caused material losses and disrupted the activities of the citizens at large.
Until now, the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation by the police with the relevant agencies.The police have also examined a number of witnesses, ranging from workers, landowners, to those suspected of being involved in the illegal drilling activities.
The local government together with the security forces confirmed its commitment to complete the handling, both in terms of fire fighting, handling refugees, and legal processes for responsible parties.
