“We ask to erase the luxury allowance of the DPR. The people reject the luxurious lifestyle of their representatives in parliament. The existence of members of the council is not representing the people, but instead sucks the blood of the people,” said the Action Coordinator of Proverbs Maharaja in front of the North Sumatra DPRD Building.
The masses were involved in bickering with the police on guard.Later the mass of the action managed to knock down the North Sumatra DPRD gate.Access to Jalan Imam Bonjol Medan was immediately closed by the authorities.
The police immediately formed a barricade to dispel the masses.The masses were forced to shift from the front of the North Sumatra DPRD building.The situation is getting tense because the mass of the mass continues to grow.

Deputy Speaker of the House Sufmi Dasco Ahmad stated that the polemic of the quantity of home allowances for DPR members arose due to misunderstanding.
He explained that the allowance arose because in the period 2024-2029 members of the DPR no longer received an official residence.Meanwhile, he said, home replacement allowances cannot be given at once.
It’s just that, Dasco assessed that the explanation conveyed to the community was not sufficient.As a result, a misunderstanding emerged that led to a polemic in the public.
“Maybe the explanation yesterday was incomplete, less detailed, causing polemics in the wider community,” he told reporters in the Parliament Complex on Tuesday.
“So it is because the budget is not enough to be given at once, so it is paid in installments for a year,” he said.
Dasco said the allowance of Rp50 million would only be given until October 2025. He explained that gradual gifts were carried out because in 2024, the Parliament could not give directly the allowance to replace the official residence that was eliminated.
Later, he said the benefits that will stop given in November 2025 will apply during one DPR period until 2029.
“So after October 2025, after October 2025, the DPR member did not accept that he would not get another house contract allowance,” he concluded.
