delivered protests to the Minister of Finance (

) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa because the regional budget was cut 25 percent.
“We propose that it is not deducted, our budget is not deducted. Because of that the burden of all in our respective provinces,” said Mualem after meeting Purbaya at the Ministry of Finance, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (7/10).
“If Aceh (deducted) is 25 percent, the others are 30 percent-35 percent, varying,” he continued.

Mualem stressed that the transfer of transfer funds to the regions (TKD) was a problem for the governors.Therefore, 18 governors who are members of the Association of Provincial Government throughout Indonesia (APPSI) raised the Purbaya Office this morning.
He urged the central government to be able to take policies in accordance with the expectations of the provincial government.
“Actually, there are many problems that we discussed earlier inside (with Minister of Purbaya). First of all, infrastructure problems in all provinces (and) regencies/cities.
The amount of TKD in the 2026 State Budget is indeed highlighted, even protested by a number of parties.Initially, the government only allocated Rp. 650 trillion, down 29 percent compared to the 2025 budget, which was Rp919 trillion.
The turmoil in the regions had broken because many local governments (Pemda) hoisted tax rates crazy.Purbaya, who had just served as Minister of Finance in early September 2025, finally added Rp43 trillion TKD funds for next year, which was to Rp693 trillion.
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa acknowledged that there were too many TKD discounts.However, he criticized the performance of the regional government which was claimed to make the central government not believe.
“If they (the local government) want to build the area, it should have been good. The budget is not lost here and there, but one of the concerns there is a lot of misses,” Purbaya said in a press conference after the meeting with the governors.
“I go to the government, new. Their image (local government) is not good in the eyes of the leaders above, it seems. So, if they can improve the image, then there is no objection. Decentralization of the road again, not centralization,” he said.
Nevertheless, he promised to continue to try to increase TKD funds next year.Purbaya said it would adjust to economic conditions and state revenue.
