“The last plane has also landed safely, and airport operations continue to run normally,” said Florens.
According to BMKG, the location of the earthquake was at 3.33 North Latitude, 117.82 East Longitude, 24 Kilometers Southeast of Tarakan at a depth of 10 Kilometers.
The nearest sub-districts from the epicenter of the earthquake were 15.07 kilometers south in Bunyu District, Bulungan Regency, 18.96 kilometers east of East Tarakan District and 20.81 kilometers east of Central Tarakan District.
This earthquake was felt strongly in Tarakan (IV-V MMI), as well as on Bunyu Island, Tanjung Selor, Berau, Nunukan and Malinau with an intensity of III-IV MMI.Several reports of light damage were received from Kampung Empat and Mambirdan.
As of 18:51 WITA, BMKG monitoring results did not show any aftershock earthquake activity (
