The Bumi Strong Magnitude 7.8 shook the Far Eastern Coast

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS) report, an earthquake centered about 128 kilometers east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the capital city of the region, with a shallow depth of only 10 kilometers.

Kamchatka Governor, Vladimir Solodov, asked his citizens to remain calm despite alert.
“This morning again tested the toughness of Kamchatka residents. There was no damage report. I asked all to remain calm … The tsunami warning was issued for the east coast of the Peninsula, and the public was being warned,” Solodov wrote through Telegram.
The Kamchatka Peninsula is indeed in the Pacific Ring, the active tectonic pathway which is often the center of a large earthquake and volcanic eruption.Last July, this area was also shaken by an 8.8 SR earthquake that triggered a tsunami to hit a coastal village.
