PBSI sent 20 players to compete in the 2025 SEA Games. In its official release on Friday (28/11), PBSI Head of Binpres, Eng Hian, said that based on the results of the final review with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, it was decided to make changes.
According to Taufik, this change did not happen suddenly because PBSI already has a list of players who are planned to compete in the 2025 SEA Games.
“It has been planned that there will be a long list and a short list too, so what the government is targeting for PBSI is very reasonable. And if there can be more than two, then thank God. And we also know that Thailand is a full team as the host,” said Taufik.
The change in the composition of the Indonesian badminton team lies in the presence of Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/ Moh Reza Pahlevi. Both replace Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, as well as Thalita Ramadhani Wiryawan.
Previously, in a press conference at the Ministry of Youth and Sports on November 21, Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir said that the gold targeted for badminton was two pieces.
This is part of the target of 80 gold that the Red and White team has planned to achieve. There are 996 Indonesian athletes who are going to the 2025 SEA Games.
