and Persija Jakarta I Gusti Kompyang (IGK) Manila died on Monday (8/18) morning WIB.
Indonesian football again lost one of the big figures, namely Igk Manila who passed away today.
The news of the death of IGK Manila was conveyed by the Chairperson of the Jakarta Persija match, Ferry Indra Sjarief.
“Assalamu’alaikum colleagues, have passed away from Governor Abn Engkong Jendral I.GK Manila at 9.00 WIB at Mother Menteng Hospital,” Ferry said.
IGK Manila was the manager of the Indonesian national team when he won the 1991 SEA Games gold medal. In the final at the Cambodian Olympiad Stadium, Indonesia won a 4-3 penalty shootout (0-0) over Thailand.
In addition to giving the title for the Indonesian national team, the late IGK Manila also led the Indonesian League championship club in 2001.
The victory was obtained by Tigers Kemayoran impressively after winning 3-2 over PSM Makassar at the Bung Karno Main Stadium in the 2001 Indonesian League final.
IGK Manila left Persija in 2007, for reasons of age and health.After that, 13 years later, in 2020 IGK Manila served as Governor of the NasDem Party Defending Academy (ABN).
In addition to football, IGK Manila is also known as a national sports figure.IGK Manila even has the nickname ‘Mr. Wushu’.
According to Ferry Indra Sjarief, the body of Igk Manarai will first be buried in ABN Nasdem Party before being buried.
“I was buried, I didn’t know yet. This was from the hospital to go to the Pancoran State Defending Academy to be buried there, if it was buried we had no news,” Ferry said.
