Vice President Corporate Relations, Shell Indonesia Susi Hutapea said Shell BBM will remain in Indonesia.However, gas stations that sell it are no longer managed by the company but Citadel Pacific Limited and Sefas Group through a brand license agreement or franchise (franchise).

The discourse on the transfer of ownership of the Shell gas station business in Indonesia to the buyer, namely the new joint venture (
New Joint Venture
) Between Citadel Pacific Limited and Sefas Group has been approved since May 2025. It is expected that the whole process can be completed next year.
“The transfer of Shell gas station business ownership in Indonesia is subject to the receipt of regulations and is expected to be completed in 2026,” Susi said.
Through its official website, Shell Indonesia management also emphasized that after the transfer process of ownership was completed, the Shell brand would remain in Indonesia through a brand license agreement.
That is, BBM products will continue to be supplied through Shell and customers will continue to have access to use high quality BBM products.
At present, Shell has around 200 gas station locations in Indonesia where more than 160 of them are owned by companies and BBM terminals in Gresik.
