Poland
mobilized military fighter jet after
Russia
launched a massive air strike against Ukraine, which was targeted near the Western Border of Poland on Saturday (9/20) morning local time.
This incident occurred a few hours after the NATO alliance stopped three Russian jets in Estonia airspace, following a series of violations of Russian airspace in Eastern countries.
“Because Russia’s long -distance flight activities that are launching attacks in the Ukraine, Poland and Allied regions began to operate in our airspace,” the Polish military statement said in X.
“The fighter aircraft in charge has been deployed, and the land -based air defense system and the surveillance of radiot have reached the maximum level of readiness,” the statement continued.
Russia has launched 579 Serang Nirawak aircraft and various other types of Nirawak aircraft to Ukraine until early Saturday morning.Moscow also launched eight ballistic missiles and 32 cruising missiles in the attack.
“Throughout the night, Ukraine was attacked on a large scale by Russia,” said Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“The attack was a intentional strategy by Russia to terrorize civilians and destroy our infrastructure. That is why strong international responses are needed,” Zelensky added.
Previously the NATO Alliance had intercepted three Russian MIG-31 fighter jets that violated the Estonian airspace. The Foreign Ministry Estonia said the jet entered Estonia airspace over the Bay of Finland without permission and was there for a total of 12 minutes.
Russia has denied her fighter jets entered Estonia airspace, insisting that the flight was carried out “in accordance with strict international rules” and “without violating the boundaries of other countries.”
Earlier this month, NATO fighter jets fired down a number of Russian unmanned aircraft that violated the Polish airspace during the attack on Ukraine.
This operation marked the first time NATO fired since Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine, which began in February 2022. The military alliance condemned Moscow’s “very dangerous” behavior.
