Promise to prepare the mechanism of age verification after being attacked by accusations that a very popular video game among children and teenagers around the world is less safe.
“We will expand the age estimation for all Roblox users who access the communication features on our platform at the end of this year,” wrote Roblox Matt Kaufman’s Head of Security in a blog post as reported by AFP, Friday (5/9).
He also stated that the company would combine the age of the user, official KTP check, and parental permission in launching a new system that limits communication between adults and minors, except for each other in the real world.
The promise of tightening the age of age was delivered by Roblox after around 100 million people played the game every day, with children under 13 years contributing around 40 percent of the total users in 2024.
However, the game has been repeatedly accused of failing to protect its young players in recent years.
The state of Louisiana, USA, filed a lawsuit in August 2025 who accused Roblox of facilitating the exploitation of children and distribution of children’s sexual harassment material.

In 2024, the Hindenburg Research activist Short-Selling investment company accused the platform of breaking into the number of active players and was not enough to protect users from sexual predators.
Although Roblox rejected the accusation, they have announced several steps in recent months to increase parental control and give better labels on the content made by users.
Roblox has a massive online platform with a distinctive appearance like a toy where players can make their own games and share them with others, with various experiences.
Some of them from driving or exercising to direct concerts or shooting games.
Announcement of this company arises when several governments around the world increase online age control.
The website, social networking, and video sharing platforms must now impose strict age controls in the UK based on the London online security law.
Meanwhile, France and other European Union countries plan to test new age verification tools for adult content in the coming months.
