Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Adies Kadir said the basic salary of DPR members did not increase, still Rp6.5 million per month.However, there are several components of allowances that have increased.
“Our rice allowances can only get Rp12 million and there is a slight increase from Rp10 million if I’m not mistaken. Other allowances have also increased a little, the gasoline is around Rp7 million which was around Rp4-5 million a month yesterday,” Adies told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (8/19).
“The eating allowance is adjusted to the current index, perhaps (total salaries and allowances for members of the DPR) to receive almost Rp69 million-Rp70 million,” he said.
He explained that the increase in rice allowance followed the increase in the price of basic commodities.According to him, rice, eggs, and tofu have experienced an increase in prices lately.
Meanwhile, gasoline adjustments follow the needs of board members.According to Adies, actually the needs of DPR members for more mobility than the gasoline allowance obtained.
He also explained that DPR members this period received home allowances.Adies said the allowance of Rp50 million per month as compensation for there was no more official residence for board members.
Adies rate actually Rp50 million is not enough.Adies said that the house rent 4×6 meters in Jakarta is around Rp. 3 million per day or Rp. 78 million per month assuming 26 working days per month.
Moreover, if the board members have children, wives, drivers, and maids.According to him, the allowance was far from enough.However, the members of the council accepted it and continued to work on state duties.
“They are still Nombok, if they receive Rp52 million, they are still Nombok to go to Rp78 million,” he said.
