Riau Police, Reno, died while searching for victims of a landslide disaster in the area

, West Sumatra (West Sumatra).
Director of Samapta Polda Riau Kombes Syahrial M Said said the incident occurred while Reno was on duty last Sunday (30/12) at around 11.00 to 12.30 WIB.
He explained that Reno, an 8 year 4 month old Belgian Malinois dog, suddenly went limp and then collapsed at the location.K-9 personnel in the field, he said, immediately evacuated Reno and took him to the nearest animal clinic for emergency medical treatment.

However, Syahrial said that from the results of the initial examination, Reno was declared dead while undergoing medical treatment.
“Reno is one of our best animals who serves in the Ditsamapta Police Unit of the Riau Regional Police. He has contributed a lot to various police operations,” he said.
“He died in a noble task, namely a humanitarian mission to help victims of natural disasters. This is a very big dedication and sacrifice,” he added.
Furthermore, Syahrial said that currently the Riau Regional Police are coordinating with the National Police’s Baharkam Police Directorate and West Sumatra Regional Police Veterinarian regarding the official post-mortem results.
“Hopefully Reno’s sacrifice will be an example for all of us about the importance of the presence and benefits of Polri members, including our operational animals, in the midst of community difficulties,” he said.
