Success to the 2026 World Cup against Saudi Arabia and Iraq in the 4th round of the qualification.
Infantino said the Indonesian national team would undergo two important matches in the 4th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Indonesia will fight the host of Saudi Arabia on October 8 and then face Iraq on October 11.
“Yes, it will be a tough match, but until some time ago no one might predict Indonesia will undergo two crucial matches to qualify for the World Cup,” said Infantino after meeting Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in New York, United States, Wednesday (9/24).

In the 4th round of the 2026 Asian World Cup qualifiers, only group champions qualified directly to the 2026 World Cup. While the runner-up team will meet other runners-ups to win the Inter-Confederation playoff ticket.
Infantino said he prayed for the Indonesian national team to achieve the best results in the 4th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The man from Swiss-Italia said playing in the World Cup was the dream of all soccer players.
“Playing in the World Cup is a highlights for every player, for every supporter. So, I pray for the best for Indonesia. Good luck for all who participate and we must unite football,” said Infantino.
Infantino also expressed respect to President Prabowo after holding a meeting in New York.
“I am honored and very happy to be able to meet with the President of Indonesia. He is a big friend of football, a leader who holds his words fast. And what he has and is doing for football, in great soccer countries like Indonesia, is really unique,” he said.
“He, the government, together with Erick Thohir, of course, they have done extraordinary things for Indonesian football. For football men, women, seniors, young age. But the important thing is the spirit for football,” said Infantino.
