This incentive was given to more than 300 thousand honorary teachers.
He explained that in 2026, the amount of incentives for honorary teachers will increase from IDR 100 thousand to IDR 400 thousand per month.
“We are increasing the honorary teacher allowance or incentive by IDR 100,000, so that starting next year honorary teachers will receive an incentive of IDR 400,000 per month and this will be transferred directly to each teacher’s account,” said Mu’ti in a Media Briefing at the Ministry of Basic Education, Wednesday (22/10).
Scholarships for 150 thousand teachers
Apart from that, the government is preparing scholarships for 150 teachers who want to continue their studies to D4 or S1 next year.Mu’ti said that his party had allocated a budget for providing these scholarships in the 2026 budget.
“Next year we have allocated 150 thousand scholarships for teachers who do not have a D4 or S1 and this has been included in the 2026 budget,” said Mu’ti.
Mu’ti said that the scholarship program for teachers who have not yet received a D4 or S1 degree is provided through the Recognition of Past Learning (RPL) mechanism.
He explained that this year, the program targets 12,500 teachers. The scholarship awarded is IDR 3 million per semester.Mu’ti explained that this was the first time this scholarship program had been carried out by the Ministry of Basic Education.
“Each IDR 3 million per semester and the information I received is that all of them have now started studying using the RPL system, Past Learning Recognition. So our hope is that within 1 year this program will be completed and hopefully we can graduate in the coming year,” he said.
Expansion of the PPG program
Apart from that, Mu’ti added that his party is also ready to hold a Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program next year, with the target number being expanded to more than 800,000 teachers.
“Then also for PPG, this year the target of 600,000 teachers has all been met, implementation has started and next year 808,000 teachers will take part in PPG,” he added.
Previously, the Ministry of Basic Education pursued the fulfillment of a minimum D4/S1 educational qualification for teachers through the RPL scheme by signing a cooperation agreement (PKS) with the Education Personnel Education Institute (LPTK). A
Abdul Mu’ti said that the PKS was his party’s effort to increase the capacity and welfare of teachers, especially PAUD and elementary school teachers, many of whom still do not have a minimum educational qualification of D4/S1.
“This program shows our commitment, the President’s commitment to improving the quality of teachers. So if yesterday someone said that teachers were not being taken care of, this is proof that we are taking care of teachers. So this year all 12,500 teachers have registered to study at several partner universities,” he said.
