Tambun Selatan Police Chief Commissioner Wuryanti said the perpetrators were arrested after the action of stealing at the Baitur Rahman Mosque, South Tambun on Tuesday (16/9) was captured by CCTV cameras.
“The recording (CCTV camera) was then viral in the community,” Wuryanti said in her statement on Sunday (9/21).
“Residents who suspect their existence immediately interrogated until finally the perpetrators admit their actions,” he continued.
Wuryanti revealed that the perpetrator deliberately left her home in Bintara 4, West Bekasi to Tambun and occupied an empty house as a hiding place.
From the hiding location, the perpetrators then looked for mosques were quiet.After finding the target, the perpetrators immediately pry the charity box with the tools that have been prepared.
When searching the perpetrators, the police found stolen cash and concrete devices used to break into the charity box.
From the examination, said Wuryanti, the perpetrators deliberately chose the Tambun area because they were already familiar with the local environment.
“Because they have worked as an introduction to goods in Griya Asri 2 Housing,” he said.
Now, the perpetrators have been named as suspects and detained at the South Tambun Sector Police.He was charged under Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum criminal threat of seven years in prison.
