Patra Niaga revealed the reason why the price of fuel oil (
BBM
) in Indonesia is more expensive than
Malaysia
, especially the Ron 95 which had just been lowered by the price of the neighboring country.
Malaysia at the beginning of last week reduced the price of RON 95 fuel to 1.99 ringgit or equivalent to Rp7,864 per liter (exchange rate of Rp3,952 per ringgit).This new price will come into force on 30 September 2025.

In Indonesia, RON 95 BBM is sold not only by Pertamina but also a private gas station.For example, Pertamina sells Pertamax Green 95 as of September 1 Rp. 13 thousand per liter.
Then, Shell sells BBM V-Power which is equivalent to RON 95 in the amount of Rp. 13,140 per liter.Meanwhile, Vivo sells Revvo 95 Rp13,140 per liter.
Malaysia has just lowered their fuel prices for RON 95. Announcement of Ron95 Malaysia’s fuel reduction was announced directly by Prime Minister Anwar.
“Starting September 30, all Malaysian people will enjoy the new price of RON95 namely RM1.99 Leliter, using MyKAD (Malaysian Identity Card), at the gas station outlets or through the gas station application,” Anwar said.
Anwar said that members of the Malaysian police and army would enjoy this new price earlier, namely September 27.The next day, it was the turn of the direct cash receipt of cash to enjoy fuel Rp. 7,864 per liter.
Anwar said the step to reduce fuel prices was taken when the global economy was uncertain.According to him, this policy is the highest award to the people of Malaysia.
