Kickoff Super League 2025/2026 will roll on Friday (8/6).Two days ahead of the highest caste of the Indonesian League began, the Japanese referee instructor was convinced by the performance of the match leader.
“We have made intense preparations so that the referee is ready to lead tomorrow from the Super League to the Championship Division. We are ready to provide the best referee in the field,” Ogawa said in Jakarta, Wednesday (6/8).
Ogawa did not dismiss that there needs to be improvements in the quality of referees in Indonesia.Nevertheless, for two years working in PSSI within the scope of the referee in Indonesia, he saw that there had been positive developments.
“Compared to the previous two seasons, this season I confident they have developed both physically, mentally, to techniques,” he said.
“They are better at understanding new regulations. I believe they can continue to develop. But of course, we cannot cover up that they can make mistakes,” he added.
Furthermore, Ogawa said that his party would still mobilize foreign referees for the Super League.Regarding the amount, he could not yet describe in more detail.
“Regarding foreign referees, Mr. Erick [Chairperson of PSSI] said that the percentage [foreign referee] would be small. But we still have a local referee who has capabilities,” he said.
“But we have to really bring foreign referees with good quality so that we can become cotoh. But sometimes inviting foreign referees is also difficult because they have to go through a process in AFC and FIFA,” he stressed.
