directly inspecting the flash floods and landslides that hit the area by air using a plane.

Wearing an Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA) vest, Mualem looked down from the plane window, looking at the damage to Aceh due to flooding.

“From the plane window, the eye caught sight of the wounds in Tanoh Rencong. Water overflowed, houses were swept away, and steadfast faces waited for hope to arrive,” wrote the man known as Mualem.
He also hopes that Aceh will quickly recover from this disaster.Mualem hopes that Aceh can recover soon.
Mualem also invited all parties to send prayers to the victims of this disaster.
“Al-Fatihah is for the disaster victims who died,” he said.
Aceh is one of the provinces affected by flash floods and landslides.
Citing BNPB data on Wednesday (3/12) morning, the death toll in Aceh reached 218.
Apart from Aceh, the number of fatalities in North Sumatra reached 301 people and in West Sumatra there were 234 people.
On another occasion, Mualem said that the disaster which devastated settlements and wiped out a number of villages was like a second tsunami for Aceh.
Mualem said there were around 4 villages that were lost due to flash floods and landslides, such as villages in the Sawang area, Jambo Aye in North Aceh to villages in the Peusangan area, Bireuen.
“There are several villages that disappeared somewhere, namely Sawang, Jambo Aye in North Aceh, Peusangan in Bireuen, that night 4 villages also don’t know where they are. So Aceh is now like a second tsunami,” said Mualem during the Disaster Recovery Team Call which was held at the Sultan Iskandar Muda (SIM) Airstrip, Saturday (29/11).
