Affan Kurniawan
, an online motorcycle taxi driver, who was killed by a Brimob tactical vehicle (Rantis) on Thursday (8/28) night.
One of them is Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian MPR Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono or Ibas.He expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. Also in mourning as deep as the death of Brother Affan Kurniawan, an online motorcycle taxi driver who was a victim in the riot incident in the Senayan area,” said Ibas who was uploaded on his Instagram account @ibasyudhoyono, quoted by cartitleloansIndonesia.com, Friday (29/8).
He also emphasized that freedom of expression is a spirit of democracy that must be protected, but still carried out peacefully.
“Approaches that prioritize safety, humanity, and professionalism must still be a priority for security forces,” he continued.
The same thing was conveyed by a member of the Indonesian Parliament from the PDI -P faction, Rieke Diah Pitaloka.He called Affan as a young figure who struggled hard to help his family and care about the struggle of the Ojol driver.

“Hopefully the late Affan Kurniawan Syahid. Affan is a child who struggles to help his family, children who have empathy and solidarity,” Rieke said.
Rieke also asked all online motorcycle taxi drivers to remain calm and continue Affan’s struggle in a peaceful manner.
“Friends of Ojol, we continue this struggle. The cause must be thoroughly investigated by the police. I ask for help for the next seven days throughout Indonesia, Ojol’s friends prayed together for Affan,” he said.
Meanwhile, a member of the Indonesian Parliament from the PAN Faction and Pasha Ungu musician, Sigit Purnomo, expressed his sadness.
“Goodbye, Affan Kurniawan’s martyr.
The Chairperson of the DPR PAN Faction, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, also stressed that every life of citizens should not be neglected.He requested that this case be handled transparently.
“On behalf of the personal and PAN faction, I convey deep condolences for the death of Affan Kurniawan. Hopefully the deceased gets the best place in the sight of Allah. Every life of citizens is valuable and should not be ignored. This case must be investigated and tried transparently for the clarity of family and community,” Putri said.
Affan Kurniawan died after being crushed by police tactical vehicles while dissolving the masses in the Senayan area.In fact, at that time he was in charge of delivering food orders, not following the demonstration.
