North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office
searched the office of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (
Pelindo
) Persero Belawan at the Grha Pelindo Building, one of the port ring road number 1, Medan City on Monday (11/8).
Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office Harli Siregar, through the Head of Legal Information Head M. Husairi, said the search was carried out related to alleged criminal acts of corruption in the procurement of 2 units of the Tahanda Ship.
“The search was related to the alleged corruption case for the procurement of 2 units of ships. Mother of 2×1,800 HP capacity for the Dumai Branch,” he said.
“The procurement of this ship was carried out by PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero) with PT.
The search was carried out based on an investigation warrant for the Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office Number: Print-07/L.2/FD.2/07/0725 dated July 21, 2025, as well as a letter of determination and a search permit from the Medan District Court.
“The search was commanded by the Special Criminal Assistant Team Mochamad Jefry. This aims to find supporting evidence related to the alleged criminal acts of corruption in the procurement of 2 units of tugs,” he explained.

When he arrived at the Main Building of Grha Pelindo Satu Belawan, the prosecutor team accompanied by security officers immediately entered several rooms on the 8th floor to the workroom on the ground floor, and the basement of the building.
“The search was in accordance with Article 32 of the Criminal Procedure Code conducted after some time ago the team had carried out a series of intensive investigations and had been requests for information to several related parties from PT. Pelindo and PT.Dok and Surabaya Shipping,” he explained.
In this case, they found indications of deviations in payment of work results that were not in accordance with the rules.Thus, the two units of the ship are currently unable to function as they should.
“The search was carried out not only at PT.Pelindo Belawan but today activities were also carried out simultaneously by North Sumatra Attorney General’s investigators in Surabaya, namely PT.Dok and Surabaya Shipping,” he explained.
He explained several planning documents to payment and electronic documents in the form of softcopy files related to the procurement of 2 units of ships allegedly still stored in the two locations in question.
“Investigators have examined 20 witnesses both from PT. Pelindo Bureau Classification Indonesia (BKI) as the consultant of the planner and supervisory consultant as well as from the Surabaya Dok and Shipping (DPS) as the provider of goods/services,” he said.
Investigators have also coordinated with PT.Its Tekno Science Surabaya in the framework of auditing and physical calculations of the construction of 2 units of tugs.
However, financial losses are currently being an official calculation process by the North Sumatra Representative BPKP.
“So that in a not too long time it can be determined about who the person or party is most responsible for this allegation,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Executive Director 1 Regional 1, Jonedi R explained that PT Pelindo Regional 1 respects and fully supports the legal process carried out by the North Sumatra Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) at the Regional Pelindo Regional Office 1.
“We make sure that management is open and cooperative, as well as providing access to law enforcement officials to carry out their duties in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Jonedi R.
Jonedi ensured that regional operational activities 1 continued to run normally without interruption.
