President of the United States
Donald Trump
triggered the controversy again by calling the Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu
as “hero of war”.
In the telephone interview on Tuesday (8/19), Trump even considered him and Netanyahu were both war heroes because they were closely working together.
“He (Netanyahu) is a hero of war, because we are working together. He is a hero of war. And maybe I (war heroes). No one cares, I too.

The statement was expressed by Trump when he talked about working with Netanyahu to help free the people of Israel who were still Hamas prisoners in the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
To Levin, a conservative and supporter of Israel, Trump said Netanyahu was “a good person” and considered the Israeli PM had struggled to protect his citizens.
Trump then said that even though some parties wanted Netanyahu to be tried for war crimes because of Israel’s aggression into the Gaza Strip, according to him, the allies were still “a hero of war”.
A member of Congress from the Trump Party, Republic, Adam Kinzinger, was even shocked by the President’s statement.
Trump’s statement triggered controversy because at this time more and more countries criticized and even criticized what Israel was doing on Palestine, especially the Gaza Strip.
Some European countries US and Israel even began to keep their distance and even turn around trying to press Tel Aviv to stop their aggressions to Gaza.
Israel’s brutal aggression to the Gaza Strip since October 2023 is still ongoing to this day and has killed more than 61 thousand Palestinians.
At the beginning of aggression, Israel argued that its military operations were a form of self -defense of Hamas attacks which first targeted their territory. However, Israel’s aggression is increasingly blind and really targets civilians and facilities that should be protected in war conditions such as hospitals, shelters, schools, to places of worship.
Trump’s praise to Netanyahu also emerged when Netanyahu had become a fugitive from the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes and alleged ethnic cleaning in the Gaza Strip.
Through chirping in X, Kinzinger, a vocal critic Trump, did not believe that the president confidently called himself a hero of war.
“Trump has just called himself a hero of war. Wow,” said Kinzinger.
