He revealed that from the results of the investigation it was known that the cost of buying and selling the special hajj quota costs US $ 2,600 to US $ 7,000.A number of officials in the Ministry of Religion allegedly also enjoyed the money.

Asep said former Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qouumas issued a Ministerial Decree (SK) related to the distribution of additional Hajj quota 2024.
He explained that the additional quota for 20 thousand pilgrims was carried out after there was a request or lobby from the Hajj Association to the Ministry of Religion.The lobby took place after the bilateral meeting of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo with the Prime Minister (PM) of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman al-Saud on October 19, 2023.
“This association then contacted the officials in the Ministry of Religion to regulate how to make the quota that entered a special quota became bigger,” he explained.
Enthusiastic officials at each level receive rations
Asep added that each Ministry of Religion officials at each level also received rations in the corruption case.
Therefore, said Asep, the KPK is collecting money related to the alleged corruption case of the pilgrimage quota, including those who have become assets, such as houses and vehicles, to be confiscated.
“We know that each of these levels, each of these people, then gets its own part,” he explained.
