) RI apologizes for the noise arising from the decision to keep the decision a secret 16 points document registration requirements for presidential and vice presidential candidates.
The provision was previously stated in the Decree of the KPU RI Number 731 of 2025 concerning the Establishment of the Documents for the Requirements of the Pair of Presidential and Vice President Candidates as Public Information Excluded by the KPU.
Later, the decision was canceled by the KPU.
KPU Chairman Mochammad Afifuddin said the rule was previously made to the public and not to benefit certain parties.
“We, from the KPU, also apologize for the situation of hubbub which there is absolutely no pretension in the KPU to do things that are considered to benefit certain parties. All KPU regulations that we make generally apply to anyone without exceptions,” Afifuddin said at a press conference on Tuesday (9/16).
He said the KPU appreciated criticism and input from the public previously delivered.
Before canceling the decision, he explained that the KPU also communicated with the Public Information Commission.
“Furthermore, we finally institutionally decided to cancel KPU Decree Number 731 of 2025 concerning Determination of Documents for the Requirements of the Pair of Presidential and Vice President candidates as public information excluded by the KPU,” he said.
