Corruption Eradication Commission (
KPK
) continues to strengthen evidence to complete the alleged corruption case file related to road construction projects in the North Sumatra PUPR Office (
North Sumatra
) and in the National Road Development Work Unit (PJN) Region 1 North Sumatra.
One of the many efforts is to examine witnesses.On this day, Thursday (8/14), the KPK scheduled an examination of 29 witnesses.
One of the witnesses was a member of the National Police on behalf of Muhammad Syukur Nasution.
“The examination was carried out at the Padang Sidempuan State Treasury Service Office (KPPN),” KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo said through a written statement, Thursday (8/14).

Meanwhile, on Wednesday (8/13) yesterday, investigators scheduled an examination of 18 witnesses.
The KPK is studying about a number of projects carried out by suspects that have been established and the flow of money is suspected of being the result of corruption.
“In general, related to road construction projects in North Sumatra. Of course how is the procurement process, then the flow of money to any party, is all traced by investigators so that in its development it is not only related to projects at the PJN 1 Center for North Sumatra and also in North Sumatra Province PUPR,” Budi said, Tuesday (22/7) night.
“Investigators found instructions related to the project undertaken by the KIR suspect in several other districts/cities. That was then the investigator continued to search,” he continued.
The KPK has named five people as suspects in this case.They are the Head of the North Sumatra Provincial PUPR Office Topan Obaja Putra Ginting;Head of UPTD GN.Old, North Sumatra Province PUPR Office concurrently PPK Rasuli Efendi Siregar;PPK Satker PJN Region I of North Sumatra Province Heliyanto.
Then the President Director of PT Dalihan Natolu Group (DNG) M. Akhunun Efendi Siregar and Director of PT Rona Na Mora (RN) M. Rayhan Dulasmi Pilang.
The suspects have been detained at the KPK State Detention Center (Rutan) of the Red and White Building Branch.
The case, which began with a Catching Operation (OTT), was related to the construction of a road in the North Sumatra Province PUPR Office, namely Jalan SP.Kota Pinang – Gunung Tua – Sp.PAL XI in 2023 with a project value of Rp56.5 billion;Preservation of Jalan SP.Kota Pinang – Gunung Tua – Sp.PAL XI in 2024 with a project value of Rp17.5 billion.
Then the rehabilitation of Jalan SP.Kota Pinang – Gunung Tua – Sp.PAL XI and Handling Avalanche in 2025;and preservation of Jalan SP.Kota Pinang – Gunung Tua – Sp.PAL XI in 2025.
As for the road construction project in the North Sumatra Regional Acting Work Unit 1, the Sipiongot Labusel boundary construction project with a project value of Rp96 billion and the Hutaimbaru-Sipiongot road construction project with a project value of Rp61.8 billion.
The total project value is at least Rp231.8 billion.The KPK will still explore and explore other projects.
