Corruption Eradication Commission (
KPK
) Officially announced three suspects in the alleged bribery case related to the management of Mining Business Permit (IUP) in East Kalimantan for the 2013-2018 fiscal year.
They were the Governor of East Kalimantan for the period 2008-2013 and 2013-2018 Awang Faroek Ishak (deceased), Chairman of the East Kalimantan Kadin who was the daughter of Awang Faroek, Dayang Donna Walfiaries Tania, and Commissioner of PT Sepiak Jaya Kaltim Rudy Ong Chandra.
From that name, the KPK just arrested Rudy Ong who on Thursday (8/21) was previously picked up in Surabaya.
As for Awang Faroek, the KPK is processing the issuance of an Investigation Termination Order (SP3) because the person concerned has died.
Whereas the Dayang Donna has not been examined and detained.
“In the development of a case of alleged corruption related to the granting of mining business licenses in East Kalimantan to the 2013-2018 State Organizers (PN), the KPK had previously named 3 suspects: AFI, DDW, ROC,” said the Acting Deputy for the Assistance and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu at a press conference in his office, Jakarta, Monday (25/8) afternoon.
Before the detention, Rudy Ong had submitted a pretrial in October 2024 at the South Jakarta District Court.Then in November 2024, the judge decided the lawsuit was not accepted.
“Against Roc’s brother, after being called more than twice not attending without information, and allegedly trying to hide themselves from the KPK, the investigators forced to pick up,” said Asep.
“The KPK then detained ROC’s brother for the first 20 days, starting from August 22 to September 10, 2025. The detention was carried out at the KPK Red and White Building Detention Center,” he continued.
Rudy Ong is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Act.
