Anis Hidayah along with the ranks met with the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reported a lot of demonstrations that had not received legal assistance.
This was conveyed by Komnas HAM in a meeting with the ranks of the Chief Police Headquarters at the Rupatama Building on Wednesday (10/9) yesterday.
“We discussed the handling of demonstrations and damage that occurred since August 25,” Anis told reporters.
Anis said that from the results of the monitoring carried out there were many participants who could not get access to legal assistance when arrested by the police.
“On a certain date it was quite liquid, then many were secured. The whole Indonesia data, more than 5,000 and Komnas HAM had dropped to 13 provinces and 19 districts/cities,” he said.
“Our findings are arrested some of which have not received access to legal assistance. So that is what we coordinate,” he added.
During the meeting, he said, Komnas HAM requested that the police both at the Regional Police level until the police station open all access to legal assistance.This is important so that the suspects and suspects still get their rights.
Moreover, Anis said the riots that occurred during action in various regions were caused by many factors that occur outside of control.Therefore, Komnas HAM reminded the National Police that those who were still being held to be given access to legal assistance.
“Our concentration, which is still being detained, gets access to legal assistance. Because of that a lot of complaints to the National Human Rights Commission,” he concluded.
Previously as many as 5,444 people were secured by the impact of demonstrations that ended in chaos that occurred in various regions in Indonesia some time later.
Deputy Chief of Police Komjen Dedi Prasetyo said of this number, around 4,800 of them had been sent home.While 583 people were named as suspects and undergo further legal proceedings.
