Patrick Kluivert
claimed to be impressed and depressed when it was first introduced as the Indonesian national team coach on January 12, 2025.
He recalled the moment in Siniar The Haye Way on the Youtube channel.Initially, Patrick thought the introduction would be normal, but apparently attended by hundreds of journalists.

Kluivert claimed to get the offer from PSSI Chairperson Erick Thohir.Kluivert knows Erick and has often met.Therefore, when Erick offered, he immediately pleased.
“I often meet Mr. [Erick] Tohir in a big tournament. We spoke for a while, then did not meet again,” he said in memory of the meeting with Erick in 2024.
“Suddenly this opportunity appeared. Like I said, I like challenges, and this project is huge. I am happy to be able to help Indonesian football,” he said.
When the first offer came, Kluivert immediately found out the Indonesian national team.He tried to analyze the situation and conditions before giving his signature to PSSI.
“First, of course, analyze, see the players. I see there is naturalization and many Dutch players,” said the former AC Milan and Barcelona player.
“It’s an interesting opportunity to return to training after previously in Türkiye. If there is a great opportunity and the President really wants you, it clearly cannot be denied.”
