On that occasion, Gus Irfan explained that the purpose of his visit to East Java was to convey the progress of the 2026 Hajj, in which East Java received an additional quota of 7,000 pilgrims.
“Thank God, East Java has received an additional Hajj quota,” said Khofifah in his statement, Tuesday (18/11).
During the meeting, the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Ecosystem Economic Development also asked the East Java Provincial Government to supply food for Hajj pilgrims during the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage.

Khofifah and Gus Irfan also discussed East Java’s opportunities to supply consumption needs to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
In the discussion, Khofifah stated that the East Java Provincial Government was ready to supply Ready To Eat (RTE) food products for consumption by Hajj and Umrah pilgrims from Indonesia while carrying out their worship in the Holy Land.
“We hope that the Ministry of Haj and Umrah can detail what items are needed. I am sure we can move the MSME sector in East Java,” he said.
Khofifah said that Ready To Eat food products are widely used in East Java, packaged in packaging and certified halal.Usually prepared when a natural disaster occurs.
The former Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs then asked the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to confirm what kind of ready-to-eat food products are allowed to enter Saudi Arabia so that East Java business actors can prepare them.
Later, the East Java Provincial Government together with halal industry entrepreneurs will coordinate to prepare the necessary requirements so that they can be sent to Saudi Arabia during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
Khofifah believes that if the Ready To Eat food supply can be implemented, it will boost and stimulate the MSME sector.
“It seems to suit the Indonesian tongue. In the future, we just have to think about the technical aspects involved in carrying out the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages,” he said.
