KAI Daop 9 Jember Legal and Public Relations Manager Cahyo Widiantoro said the route was being explored for round trip (PP).He said this step was part of an effort to open direct transportation access to two leading tourist areas.
“The new route is expected to answer the needs of the community as well as create a new tourism segment from the eastern tip of Java from Ketapang Station in Banyuwangi to the tourism and cultural center of West Java at Bandung Station,” said Cahyo in Jember, East Java, Wednesday (5/11), as reported by Antara.

Cahyo said Banyuwangi Regency is known for the Ijen Crater, Alas Purwo, beach tourism and cultural richness.Bandung is known as a center for natural tourism, culinary, education and creative fashion.
He said people could start the day from Ketapang in Banyuwangi to see the sunrise over the waters of the Bali Strait.
Then, they enjoyed a long journey along the green, exotic and story-filled southern route of Java.The journey will end in Bandung, a cool city hugged by mountains and creativity.
“A travel experience like that is no longer just a dream, now KAI Daop 9 Jember is exploring opening this new route,” he said.
Currently, there is no train service available from Ketapang to Bandung.Train passengers must first transit in Surabaya.
“Direct connectivity between the two destinations is seen as capable of giving birth to new passenger segments, especially domestic and foreign tourists, communities
traveling
, and families who enjoy panoramic travel,” said Cahyo.
