Deputy Chairperson of Kadin for Cooperatives and UMKM Nurdin Halid said this proposal refers to several legal and philosophical basis that color the Indonesian economy.
The legal basis, among others, the 1945 Constitution aimed at advancing public welfare, the second and fifth Pancasila Sila, as well as Article 33 paragraphs 1, 2, 3, and 4. He considered these articles have not been fully implemented.
“We propose that there is a constitutional economy day, Pancasila Economic Day, so that this country, which in last year is very liberal, tends to be capitalist, has turned into a mutual cooperation economy, the constitutional economy, the Pancasila economy,” Nurdin said in the opening of the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) in Jakarta, Tuesday (8/19) night as quoted by Antara.
The proposal for the determination of July 5 as the Pancasila Economic Day and the Constitutional Economic Day will be discussed in the National Coordination Meeting of Kadin on August 19-21.
After that, Kadin will also hold a seminar at several universities to finalize the narrative and the rationale behind this proposal.According to Nurdin, Kadin targeted an official announcement to be made in October 2025.
Kadin held a National Coordination Meeting for Cooperatives and MSMEs 2025 as part of a commitment in strengthening the role of MSMEs and Cooperatives as the main foundation of the people’s economy.
The National Coordination Meeting Kadin is also a forum to strengthen the consolidation between the business world and the government in accelerating the transformation of the people’s economy.
Chairperson of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Bakrie, in his remarks, said MSMEs and cooperatives were the national economy’s sokoguru which was in harmony with the mandate of the nation’s founders.He stressed, the mandate of Bung Karno and Bung Hatta about independence and cooperatives as a golden bridge towards prosperity must be realized in the form of real policy.
“Kadin was present as a strategic partner of the government as well as a shade of the business world, including MSMEs and cooperatives, which reached more than 60 million perpetrators and 130 thousand cooperatives throughout Indonesia,” Anindya said.
