revealed the reason PSM Makassar could beat Persija Jakarta in the Super League 2025/2026 match.
Persija swallowed the inaugural defeat at the Super League 2025/2026 this season after the 0-2 defeat from PSM Makassar at the BJ Stadium.Ha, Sunday (9/21).
After the match, Persija player Jordi strongly revealed the reason PSM could win in this match.
“They (PSM) were very strong for 95 minutes. They continued to encourage and they deserve to win. So we have to look at this game again,” Jordi said Amat.
“Looking at the last two weeks, the last two matches that we haven’t performed the best, and we have to fix it,” Jordi added.
Persija conceded through Savio Roberto’s free kick and Abu Kamara’s header.
Jordi was very assessing the two PSM goals should be a lesson and he asked his colleagues to do autocritics.
“We have to do autocritics because tonight is not the best game. We have to look to ourselves and see what we can better do. Today Persija Jakarta is not in the right stage, we have to do more,” Jordi said.
Furthermore Jordi said the Persija duel against PSM became one of the most special matches for him.This is not only because of the tension of the match, but also because of the emotional closeness factor with the homeland of his family.
“For me this is a very special match. My grandmother was born here, in Makassar. I also still have a family in Manado and in Siau,” Jordi said after the match.
The Indonesian national team’s naturalization defender confirmed that Persija’s defeat of PSM had to be a valuable lesson to build a stronger team in the rest of the competition.
“We have to clean up and take this defeat to be better, to develop as a team, because we have a long journey in front of us. So, we must continue to advance,” he said.
This defeat makes Persija’s position now ranked second in the Super League standings by packing 11 points.
Meanwhile, PSM managed to get out of the position of the caretaker of the standings and rise to 14th by packing six points.
