Central Sulawesi responded to the statement of Central Sulawesi Governor Anwar Hafid about controlling mining activities without permission.
Coordinator of Central Sulawesi Jatam Muhammad Taufik hopes that the Governor’s statement in front of the mass of action on September 1, related to illegal mines, is not an effort to find popularity.
He said that the Governor’s firm action needed to encourage law enforcement related to mining activities without permission in the province.Illegal mines, said Taufik, also caused environmental damage and the source of livelihoods of local residents.
“If you want to see the governor’s narrative about controlling illegal mining, actually a kind of popularity will be built, but in practice in the field we have not seen firmly the governor encourages law enforcement officials,” Taufik said this week.
It is known, a number of areas that are suspected to have illegal mining activities are Palu City, Parigi Moutong Regency, Toli-Toli and others. The activity also caused alleged environmental pollution in the residents’ agricultural areas to clean water sources.
The Governor of Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) Anwar Hafid previously promised to facilitate the demands of the community and would take firm action against naughty mines that disobeyed the rules and had a serious impact on the region
“Of course I said that our area had been hit by cancer because of mining activities that violated the rules,” said Anwar Hafid who was welcomed by the mass of action, quoted from AFP.
Anwar Hafid also invited the mass of action to help him build Central Sulawesi.
