“I feel very furious over the statement of high -ranking Israeli government officials who appear to absolutely reject the idea of the formation of the Palestinian state,” Ishiba said.
“For our country, the question is not whether to recognize the Palestinian state, but when. The unilateral actions that are continuously carried out by the Israeli government cannot be accepted,” he continued as quoted

At present, Ishiba emphasized that Japan has not planned to officially recognize the Palestinian state. However, according to him it was only a matter of time.
He said that Japan’s attitude could change at any time if there was no change from Israel’s aggressive attitude towards Gaza, especially about the ceasefire negotiations.
“I must clearly emphasize that if there are further steps that prevent the realization of a two-country solution, Japan will be forced to take new steps in response,” Ishib added.

The most important thing is that Palestine can stand in a sustainable manner, living side by side in peace with Israel.Along with the invited Palestinians to carry out the role of responsible international community members, the Palestinian must also build a government system that guarantees accountability, “he added.
Nearly 80 percent of UN members have recognized the Palestinian state to this day.A number of Western countries including Britain, Canada, and France have even officially recognized Palestine on the sidelines of the current UN General Assembly.
Besides Japan, countries in Asia such as South Korea and Singapore which are close allies of the US to date have not recognized Palestine as a country.Even so, these three countries often support resolutions in the United Nations related to Gaza.
The latest step to recognize this Palestinian follows Israel’s brutal aggression in Gaza which has been ongoing since October 2023 and to this day has killed more than 65 thousand Palestinians.
Under the administration of President Donald Trump, Israeli Allies, Washington argued that recognition of Palestine was the same as giving a gift to Hamas for an attack on Israel on 7 October which triggered Tel Aviv’s aggression to Gaza to this day.
Meanwhile, Japan, who is a member of G7, is a close allies of the United States and hosted for around 54,000 US military personnel.
