Iranian Justice Office Mizan as quoted by Reuters said the men had a relationship with Israel.
The execution caused a reaction from human rights activists. They questioned the case and accusations against Mohammadi Khiyyareh.
The reason, according to their notes, Kihayeh was only 15 or 16 years old at the time of the murder of Sheikh Al-Islam.He was also arrested at the age of 19 years, and was detained for more than a decade before being executed.
The punishment, they said, was based on recognition obtained through torture, a practice alleged by activists routinely used by the Iranian court when interrogating prisoners.
According to Amnesty International, Iran’s authority has executed more than 1,000 people so far in 2025, the highest annual number recorded by the group in at least 15 years.
