Financing service provider, Mandiri Utama Finance (MUF) records a surge of public interest in
Electric car
, especially in big cities.However, there are still problems with resale value (resale value) and after -sales services which are the main challenges for prospective buyers.
Director of MUF, Dapot Parasian Sukoco Sinaga, said that changes in consumers’ preferences from oil -fueled cars to electric vehicles began to appear.Even so, many prospective buyers are still holding back because they are worried about the resale price that is difficult to guess.

He added that public awareness of energy efficiency, environmental issues, and government incentives were the main reasons for driving the growth of the electric car market.
However, Dapot stressed that the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia still needs to be strengthened, especially in terms of infrastructure and resting services.
The challenge of resale value, according to him, is crucial because it involves long -term purchasing decisions.
“At present, dealers, especially from Chinese brands, are strengthening their ecosystems, including dealer networks, official workshops, and the construction of SPKLU (public electric vehicle filling stations),” he continued.
MUF had recorded a significant increase in the submission of electric vehicle financing in the last two years.Most come from young consumers and urban professionals.
Through this note MUF draws conclusions that in the future, the electric car industry in Indonesia will continue to develop instead of just a momentary trend.
“In general, we see that the future of electric cars in Indonesia is quite bright,” he concluded.
