After the draw, coach Indra Sjafri seemed quite satisfied with the performance of his team in this match.
“First, of course, what we did yesterday in the first match, we reflected, and we agreed with the players, there were several changes that we had to make, including the formation and also a little adjustment to the way of playing,” said Indra Sjafri.
In the first leg against Mali, Garuda Muda played a 4-3-3 scheme, and as a result lost 0-3.However, in the second match, Indra Sjafri changed the formation to 3-4-3.
These changes make Indonesia U-23 more effective in attacking. The right sector is the mainstay of Kadek Arel and his friends in dismantling Mali’s defense.
With this formation, the midfield looks more ‘contained’ and dares to duel against the Mali midfielders.
“And thank God, everything went smoothly, and this trial really provided many benefits because our opponents were also of good quality,” said Indra Sjafri.
