Indonesian table tennis athletes agreed to make a breakthrough in
SEA Games 2025
.The gold medal target is an ambition that is being fought for in order to restore the glory of the Red and White team.
One of Indonesia’s table tennis athletes, Komang Anik Sudarnita, emphasized his dream of standing on the highest podium at the Southeast Asian Games.He tried to change the nervousness that had crept into his mind into motivation to make the nation proud.
“I’m definitely nervous because this is my first SEA Games. But I want to show that Indonesia can do it. We are confident that with the existing preparations, we definitely want a gold [medal],” said Komang in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/12).

A similar thing was conveyed by a young Indonesian athlete, Muhammad Naufal, who wanted to repeat the history of the gold medal.Because the last time Indonesia achieved the highest achievement at the SEA Games occurred in the 2005 edition.
“I’m definitely nervous because it’s my first time [participating in the SEA Games]. To face it, I just play loose. All athletes of course want gold,” he said.
The 17 year old athlete sees Singapore as his toughest rival.Looking at the total medals, the country on the Malacca peninsula collected 63 gold, 35 silver and 28 bronze medals in the SEA Games table tennis.
Meanwhile, Indonesia is in second place, but the numbers are very unequal.The Red and White Team won 11 gold, 15 silver and 30 bronze.
“[Not pressured] but more like wanting to prove it. Previously I had participated in an Asian level tournament in China and that gave me confidence because the level [of the SEA Games] had dropped because it was in Southeast Asia,” he said.
“I learned to play fast from China. That was a provision for my opponents against Singapore, which is the strongest country in Southeast Asia for table tennis,” he emphasized.
