Thousands of residents poured out to watch
Independence Carnival
in the National Monument area (
Monas
), Central Jakarta, Sunday (8/17).
President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka were also present watching the ornamental truck carnival from the ministry/institution.
The cabinet ministers also enlivened the event by taking part in riding each decorative truck they designed.
The series of carnivals began with the Kencana Train and was followed by trucks from the Ministry of Religion designed with a symbol of five religions in Indonesia.
Decorative trucks from ministries/institutions display diverse designs, in accordance with the program they are carrying and their achievements.
One of the decorative trucks that attract attention is the Ministry of Home Affairs’ trucks.The vehicle was transformed like a fire service car, then filled with a lot of decoration and replica of the Identity Card (KTP).
Then, there are also decorative trucks from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also not escape attention.The front of the truck is designed to resemble the Pancasila Building and also displays a replica tank that reads the UN behind it.
There are also decorative trucks from the Ministry of Defense and TNI.The ornamental truck was designed to resemble the Republic of Indonesia (KRI) warships.Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and TNI Commander General Agus Subianto also took part in the truck.
The carnival was closed with a fireworks party that was welcomed by the cheers of residents who packed the Monas area.After the fireworks party, residents were again presented with a people’s party filled with the appearance of top artists.
