“This raises concerns for the lives of the sick and injured after the refugees returned to Gaza City,” said Abu Salmiya, as reported by Al-Jazeera.
“We are racing against time to provide primary health services to all these returnees.”
Abu Salmiya said that before the war started two years ago, the health care sector was already experiencing severe supply shortages.According to him, what is happening now is much worse.
Meanwhile, he said hospitals needed large amounts of assistance.During the first three months, it took at least thousands of trucks as the healthcare sector was completely destroyed.
“We need operating rooms, anesthetic drugs. We need professional medical personnel, and they need equipment for operations, especially orthopedic neurosurgery and cancer treatment. Our cancer patients have not received any treatment for the past two years,” he said.
