At the same time the former US Ambassador to UN John Bolton gave an assessment of the presidential meeting
Donald Trump
and Russian President
Vladimir Putin
in Alaska on Friday (8/15).
The meeting discussed efforts to end the war in Ukraine and the global situation.Bolton said Trump did not fully lose in striving for negotiations.
However, he said Putin clearly won.
“I think Trump is not inferior, but Putin clearly won. Trump did not get anything except further meetings. Putin I thought had traveled a long journey to rebuild the relationship that I always believed to be his main goal,” Bolton said during an interview with cartitleloans.
Putin, he continued, escaped the sanctions, did not receive a ceasefire agreement, and the further meeting was still in the plan stage and had not even been determined.
In a joint conference, Putin said the relations between Russia and the US in recent years were at the lowest point.The two countries, he continued, need to improve the situation by converting confrontation into dialogue.
