FIFA
make sure it is not a Malaysian soccer federation (
Fam
) and seven naturalized players of the Malaysian national team who falsified documents.
This was revealed by FIFA in a reply letter to FAM related to an explanation of the sentence for the Malaysian Federation and seven naturalized players.
In point 27 of the letter dated Monday (6/10), FIFA said that FAM and the seven naturalized Malaysian national team players who were sentenced did not know about fake documents.

“Both FAM and the players have never realized the possibility that some of the documents submitted have been falsified,” FIFA wrote.
“Both FAM and the players have never played a role in the preparation of documents that are now suspected to be fake. The actions of FAM and the players are true and without any intention or mistakes,” FIFA’s statement wrote.
Despite mentioning FAM and the seven naturalized players of the Malaysian national team did not play a role in the preparation of fake documents, FIFA still sentenced FAM and the seven players.
“The accusation of FAM and the players is related to Article 22 of the FDC. The relevant part of this provision, for this case, stipulates that: ‘Anyone who uses fake or falsified documents’ must be subject to sanctions.”
“However, this article does not provide any guidelines for what is meant by the notion of ‘use’. In fact, so that violations can be determined, it seems enough for a party to use fake or whatever documents, regardless of whether the party is aware of falsification or falsehood,” FIFA wrote.
Interestingly, Fam in an official statement on Tuesday (7/10) said FIFA charged FAM and the seven naturalized Malaysian national team players know about fake documents.Although, FIFA in his letter realized that Fam and seven players were sentenced not to know about fake documents.
“The Malaysian Football Association (FAM) confirms that the statement in FIFA’s decision is inaccurate. Claims that the players ‘obtain or know fake documents’ are not based because so far there is no strong evidence proposed,” Fam wrote.
The seven Malaysian national team players who were sentenced to FIFA were Facundo Garces, Imanol Machuca, Hector Hector, Gabriel Palmero, Rodrigo Holgado, Joao Figueiredo and Jon Irazabal.
Fam Malaysia has an appeal to FIFA until 11 October.
